How to promote your flight school?

Over the past decades, We have been observing bankruptcy all over aviation, from very small aviation agencies to some of the low-cost carriers, therefore flying clubs and aviation training organization are not an exception when it comes to bankruptcy.

Following a wrong and illogical structural plan may lead to closing your flight training organization

Although we need to understand the fact that the economy and location of a flight school is playing a huge part when it comes to getting new student pilots but:

We still believe there are some outstanding marketing methods that will help any flight schools to get new students, no matter where the school is located or how many aircrafts they have!

1- Website Marketing

Based on our experience with working with other flight training providers:

On average, %92 of their current international students found the flight school through their websites, so it gives an idea of how important that is to concentrate mainly on developing an excellent website!

2- Search Engine Marketing

Having a top search result on Google will lead to thousands of more visitors daily, which means more and more clients!

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is probably one of the most important things that will help your website ranking on Google or other search engines.

3- Youtube Marketing (Video Creation)

Aviation enthusiasts love to watch cockpit videos and see themselves flying as a student in your flight school.

so it is very very essential to create cockpit videos on Youtube, and also creating some quick video tutorials on Youtube would be a great idea to gain more subscribers for your Youtube Channel.

4- Paid Online Advertisements

We do not recommend any paid ads as they are completely ineffective for small, and new flight schools based on our experience.

One of our Canada-based flight school partners invested around $14,000 for their Pay-per-click (PPC) campaign.

Unfortunately, it was a complete failure and no return on investment!

5- Social Media Marketing

Social Media is one of the great ways to get new students for your flight school and build up a strong connection with your students, however, there are some marketing techniques and strategies that must be followed to achieve the best possible results such as:

  • Setting up a Business Account instead of a personal profile
  • Completing the account setting such as Logo, website link, description, background, address, and telephone number and etc
  • Creating high-quality content
  • Posting news, events, and important changes on the page
  • Activating Star Ratings and Reviews on Facebook
  • Increasing number of subscribers (likes and followers)
  • Posting short cockpit videos or even quick video tutorials
  • Applying for a gray or a blue badge on FB or Instagram, (if applicable)
  • Creating infographics, and posting short articles.
  • Creating a call-to-action button.
  • Choosing a short page link instead of the default link
  • Posting at least 3 times a week.
  • Answering to the comments, and messages promptly (within 24 hours)

It takes around 7-8 months, to create enough activity on the page in order to find new students

6- Offline Marketing

Not very effective in 2019 but still works today. We always suggest to our clients to use a combination of internet marketing and traditional marketing to maximize the results.

  • TV Commercials
  • Billboards, posters
  • Speaking at events
  • Workshops
  • Aviation Magazines
  • Sponsoring an event or an organization

7- Branding

Branding can be very important because of the competition, Students are looking for a reason why exactly to choose your flight school over another training provider? Brand Building a flight school is a very slow process, but It can be done.

8- Aviation Forums, Blogs, and etc..

Student Pilots mostly prefer to read reviews and testimonials of your flight school on aviation forums and blogs rather than giving your flight school a visit, so we can’t really emphasize how important that is to keep reviews of your flight school on Internet as positive as possible

In case you had a bad review, you can always contact the person for asking reconsideration and feedback.
